Based in McLean, Va., Attain Sports and Entertainment (managed by Attain Partners) owns and manages the Orioles Double-A affiliate Bowie (MD) Baysox, the MLB Draft League Frederick (MD) Keys, and a yet to be named Atlantic League baseball team based in Frederick, Maryland. The company was formed in 2021 by Attain Partners to present sports as affordable family-friendly entertainment with a commitment to community engagement, customer service, innovation, and the professional growth and development of its employees.
What You Will Do:
Attain Sports & Entertainment is looking for a Junior Staff Accountant to serve within the company. This individual is responsible for many aspects of AP/AR, Payroll, Taxes and general administration within QuickBooks for the Bowie Baysox and Frederick Keys. The successful candidate will bring experience in commercial and State and Local contracts and must be proficient with QuickBooks software and relevant third party tools. We are looking for someone who has excellent problem-solving skills, is a strong communicator, thrives on process improvement, and enjoys working in a challenging, fast-paced environment to support our continued success. This is a permanent, fulltime position on-site at our office in Frederick MD.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Records numerical and financial data to produce financial records.
- Ensures financial data is entered correctly and accurately.
- Enters journal entries to debit and credit client accounts.
- Generates accounting and audit reports for cash receipts, accounts payable and receivable, expenditures, and profits and losses.
- Reconciles and reports differences or issues found in financial records.
- Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Conduct reconciliation of all accounts on an as needed basis.
- Maintain and balance the general ledgers in an accurate, complete, and up-to-date manner.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Performs related duties as assigned
Required Skills:
- Experience with QuickBooks and report writing
- Advanced skills with formulas and complex financial spreadsheets in MS Excel, word
Experience:
- QuickBooks: 1 year (Required)
- Bookkeeping: 1 year (Required)
Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's Degree
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Frederick, MD: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
