Job Title: Jr. Project Manager

Department: Administration

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Summary


Under supervision of the Senior Project Manager, the Jr. Project Manager will have a general understanding of lasertube, flat sheet and sawing machines, preferably BLM GROUP specific machines. In this technical role, the Jr. Project Manager will develop a thorough understanding of BLM departments, processes, business systems, and machine product lines, assist internal and external customers in the planning, development, and execution of assigned machine projects to a high level of quality and customer service, actively participate in scheduled project manager professional development.

Essential Functions

The duties listed below are the specific duties and tasks that someone in this position must accomplish. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment to the level and/or class of this position.

  • Responsible for assigned BLM machine sale projects from beginning to end.
    • Intro call with customer to define needs, expectations and project timeline
    • Pre-Installation technical communication and coordination with other departments, including a walkthrough with the customer.
    • Development and distribution of laser, saw, end-forming machine project documentation and timelines to customers
    • Ensure job box installation and tool shipment planning is complete
    • Participate in pre-installation meetings and visits at customer location
    • Project wrap up with the customer
  • Attend and participate in internal project management meetings with other departments and various levels of management
  • Participate in the development and execution of a BLM quality system
  • Participate in the development and execution of department tracking projects, including BrightWork 365, the non-conformance system, TGR-TGW, lessons learned, and other projects as needed
  • Ability to work overtime as needed and required
  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% of time
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Administration, Business, or related field required (Military or work experience can be substituted for education)
  • Two or more years of experience in project management preferred, preferably within the laser/end-forming machine industry or a similar technical environment

Knowledge, Skills, and other Abilities


  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
  • Knowledge of project software, preferably Microsoft Project and Gantt charts
  • Possess basic 2D CAD software skills preferred
  • Highly organized; thorough and efficient; methodical and detailed worker
  • Able to work independently and effectively with minimal supervision
  • Ability to create, maintain, and manage a project
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to effectively listen, understand, and analyze problems
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Able to meet deadlines and communicate deadlines to other team members
  • Able to effectively work with all levels of team members
  • Fluent in Italian preferred but not required
