Jr. Photographer - Rejuvenation

About the Team

The Rejuvenation photography team consists of highly passionate, collaborative and process driven thinkers. As part of the team, you'll bring your ideas to the discussion. Our role is to create cohesive visual direction and photography for the brand, across all channels to bring products to market creatively.

 

Overview of the Jr. Photographer 

In this role, you will lead the execution of the digital silo photography of all Rejuvenation product. You will be responsible for executing high volume workflows for Silo & PIP shots as well as lighting, rigging, color accuracy and file management. You will co-manage the daily Silo workflow and partner with Producer, Sr. Studio manager, Retouchers, and Lifestyle Photographer in setting up best practices and most efficient workflow. You will work closely with the studio team and cross functional partners to consistently update silo style guide, stay current on market trends in product photography, and establish brand consistency in our Silo photography. You will be part of the team that defines the visual identity of the brand. Key metrics are consistent, product accuracy, expert execution, effective management, and production of photography and maximizing shot count per day.

 

Responsibilities

  • Follow established brand silo style guide, execute to brand standards, and ensure consistency of image composition, lighting, finish and color accuracy. 
  • Partner with Creative Director, Web partners, Lifestyle photographer and Sr. Studio manager in updating the Silo style guide as needed to provide the most inspiring, most converting shopping experience.
  • Partner with ecomm producer and Sr. studio manager on the daily/weekly shot list to group similar type shots together to maximize efficient workflows.
  • Partner with Sr. studio manager & lifestyle photographer to build and maintain camera and lighting equipment inventory. 
  • Take direction from Sr. studio manager, lifestyle photographer & producers regarding expected shot counts, deliverables, and timelines. 
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe and organized workspace, building silo sets, daily file naming, uploading of images for all silo sets, delivering to clipping path service, file management, and updating internal workflows. 
  • Maintain and establish new processes to ensure workflow efficiencies, creative flexibility and maintain high volume production of all photography.
  • Partner with supporting teams to produce & improve our product lifestyle imagery that is created from our Silo shots and put into blank plated environments. 
  • Stay current and implement new creative tools and technology advancements in photography to improve online customer experience and respond to business needs.
  • Ability to direct freelancers & lighting technicians on set 
  • Operate a computer and communicate via telephone.
  • Transport materials and equipment and lift, move, and carry objects up to 50 pounds on a limited basis.

 

Criteria

  • Minimum of 4 years commercial experience in product/still life photography in the home industry or relevant industries. 
  • Strong technical understanding of strobe, continuous, and natural lighting.
  • Working knowledge of digital image quality and output: File size, light and color balancing.
  • Proficient with MAC/PC, Photoshop, INDESIGN, and Capture One, Word and Excel proficient preferred.
  • Proficient with all studio tools, lighting, technical software, and systems. 
  • Experienced professional who stays current with photography trends, lighting, technical advances and changing creative tastes.
  • Ability to work with Canon DSLR and Phase One camera backs. Masters digital camera system and understands its benefits and limits.
  • Deep understanding of digital photo technology and how to improve internal processes and customer experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and still be able to see "the big picture".
  • Understands internal and external customer trends and anticipates needs; assesses industry trends and identifies new solutions, products and/or services. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills with demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, and concurrently manage multiple projects. 
  • Exceptional communication skills with the demonstrated ability to work cross functionally in a collaborative and productive manner. 
  • Strong demonstrated creative eye, sense of design in all applications of the photographic image, especially as it relates to editorial and consumer applications.
  • Ability to perform work onsite in the Portland office full-time pending state, local, and Company return-to-work guidance during and after the COVID-19 pandemic.
