Junior Loan Officer - Inside Sales - Mortgage

Our top local lending team is in search of a CO-LO (Junior Loan Officer) on our team who can grow as we grow. You’ll work with our 6 Loan Officers and sales assistants to take applications, structure loans for our clients and get them mortgage-ready. The team will go out and develop new business leads and pass the torch to you, so you can focus on creating client rapport, asking great questions, running preapproval appointments, and deepening relationships with our builder and lender partners to ensure smooth successful closings.

What makes this position so unique is that over time, we give you the opportunity to grow your own database, reputation, and mortgage closings while working within our team. Expectations are that our COLO's (in time) close two self-originated mortgages per month working from the many contracts and introductions we provide. This offers a unique mix of both inside and outside mortgage sales.

Our ideal candidate has a 3+ year history as a Loan Officer assistant, real estate sales, or general outbound sales. This candidate has a proven track record in prior sales and customer service positions. A college bachelor's degree is preferred.

This is NOT a remote position. You work in our office in Richmond, Virginia. We do offer some schedule and location flexibility.

Compensation: $50,000 - $60,000 (experience dependent) target base income that grows as you grow with generous bps on self-origination as you develop as a licensed originator - Full Benefits

Compensation:

$50,000 - $60,000 target base income

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary contact during the “contact to contract” phase of the loan process and liaison between clients, referral partners, and the Loan Officer and conduct meetings to coordinate any follow-up items
  • Create and nurture relationships with both referral partners and borrowers to draw in new business and retain our existing clients
  • Review all loan package documentation for discrepancies, omissions, and income calculation then report any discrepancies to the loan originator
  • Orchestrate the completion of loan applications, coordinate the collection of documentation including credit reports, run DU/LP/AUS, prepare the file for processing, and send a closing cost worksheet to borrowers
  • Respond to all in-house and customer inquiries regarding transactions and provide quotes when needed to offer exceptional customer service

  • Answer phone calls from new clients, take their information, and answer questions in the initial phase of applying for a mortgage

Qualifications:
  • At least 2 years of previous experience fulfilling the roles of an LOA/Loan Partner, Processor, Loan Officer and/or Underwriter, 5+ years preferred
  • Up-to-date NMLS license or willing to get licensed within 90 days
  • Excellent time management, interpersonal, communication, and follow-up skills
  • Extensive experience with automated underwriting systems such LP and DU
  • Able to accurately analyze income, asset documents, and credit reports, and knows how to structure the information properly for a loan
  • Must have current working knowledge of mortgage loan products (FHA/VA/CONV/USDA) and knowledge of mortgage procedures, processes, and documentation
