General Description of Position:

The Junior IT Analyst role is a full-time on-site position with a diverse set of responsibilities. You will be the primary point of contact for resolving computer software and hardware issues across our network of 4 retail locations, 1 distribution center, and our headquarters. The role will kick off with an exciting opportunity to assist Next Adventure in transitioning from an existing managed service provider to an in-house IT department. We're looking for a candidate who is eager to be a part of building this department from the ground up, involving both systems and network management.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Guide and assist staff remotely and in person with system configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Set up accounts for new users.
  • Repair and replace equipment as necessary.
  • Provide training to end-users.
  • Process support tickets efficiently.
  • Conduct audits.
  • Provide end-user support across various operating systems.
  • Be flexible with working shifts, overtime, stand-by, on-call, and holidays when required.
  • Troubleshoot computer software and hardware issues.
  • Document processes and maintain service desk records.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor computer patches and software updates.
  • Assist in network implementation and maintenance.
  • Maintain strong security practices and oversight.
  • Prioritize and schedule problem resolutions for end users and the IT environment, escalating issues when required.
  • Perform hands-on fixes at the desktop level, including software/hardware installation and upgrades, file backups, and system/application configuration.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, including checking and cleaning workstations, printers, and peripherals.
  • Test and verify fixes.
  • Create, adjust, and maintain user settings and permissions.
  • Write technical support documentation.
  • Provide assistance to the Senior IT Manager as required.
  • Help to facilitate training for employees.
  • Perform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of systems.


Requirements:

Qualifications:


Minimum requirements:

  • Two or more years of experience in a helpdesk role or similar position
  • Comprehensive knowledge desktop support and troubleshooting
  • Proven skills related to troubleshooting and root cause identification
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of technology devices (computers, laptops, printers, copiers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of O365, Azure AD, Firewall Technologies, and Windows Server Operating Systems
  • Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in computer science, IT, cybersecurity, or related field preferred

Highly-competitive candidates will also have:

  • Industry recognized IT certifications (A+, Network Plus, CCNA, Security+, etc…)
  • Experience working in a small teams (of one or two)
  • Experience working with a range of technologies (not siloed into a single area)
  • Experience managing, troubleshooting, and deploying network infrastructure

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Be on-call for emergencies that result in significant downtime.
  • Be willing to travel to various store locations when required including: Sandy, Portland, and Warren. Mileage reimbursement provided by the employer.
  • Have the ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds, run wire in awkward or tight spaces, crawl under desks, and other physical tasks related to common IT maintenance or deployment.
