Stephens Design Group, Inc. is presently seeking a Junior Designer who shares our passion for design and has the skills and entrepreneurial drive to grow within our organization. Applicants should be highly organized, detail-oriented, self-starters who are flexible enough to work on a variety of projects under the mentorship of the firm’s Senior Staff. Candidates should have an affinity for high-end residential interior design and a willingness and desire to learn.
Specific responsibilities may include:
· AutoCAD drafting of furniture plans, elevations, and other drawings;
· Assisting Senior Staff with selection of furniture, fixtures and finishes;
· Assisting Senior Staff with preparation of furnishings proposals in Studio Designer;
· Gathering quotes from vendors;
· Placing and tracking orders;
· Assisting in maintenance / organization of sample library;
· Gathering / returning product samples;
· Preparing presentation drawings / renderings;
· Assisting in field surveying of client spaces;
· Attending project meetings and providing documentation support;
· Assisting with project installations
Qualifications:
· Associate / Bachelor degree from accredited architecture or interior design school;
· 1-2 years experience minimum working in interior design office: strongly prefer experience working on luxury residential projects
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
· Basic hand sketching;
· Excellent AutoCAD drafting;
· Excellent computer rendering utilizing Adobe Creative Suite, SketchUp, etc;
· Working knowledge of NYC design resources;
· Working knowledge of construction documents and processes;
· Commitment to support multiple projects;
· Intermediate MS Office Suite skills;
· Working knowledge of Studio Designer, or similar Project Management platform is strongly preferred;
· Excellent organization skills;
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

We are an energetic and creative team of professionals who work collaboratively to provide the highest level of design and services to our discerning clients. We are currently designing projects in NYC, the Hamptons, South Florida, Aspen, the Bahamas and the Dominican Republic. Our office is located steps from the High Line in the Landmark Arts Building in the Gallery District of West Chelsea.
Salary
Negotiable - based on experience and qualifications.
