POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Fungi Perfecti, makers of Host Defense® Mushrooms™, was founded by renowned mycologist Paul Stamets with the goal of building the connection between human health and fungi. Based near the Olympic Rainforest in Washington state, where our mushroom mycelium is grown, we are one of the best documented and longest-standing mushroom supplement companies in the USA.

 

We are seeking a talented and skilled Junior Graphic Designer to join our Marketing team. You will work closely with the marketing and design team on a wide and varied range of projects that includes print and digital design. This position reports directly to the Brand Manager. This is a full-time, non-exempt position; Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Our offices are located in the Olympia, WA area, however, this position will work remotely. Equipment and supplies will be provided for remote work; a reliable internet service is required. Responsibilities herein represent typical elements and criteria considered necessary to perform the job successfully. Other duties may be assigned to meet emerging business needs.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Creates fresh designs as directed by Marketing Leadership in alignment with the brand style guide, organizational goals and within Dietary Supplement Health & Education Act (DSHEA) compliance.
  • Effectively interprets Executive Vision and assists the Marketing team to implement updates to packaging.
  • Supports the marketing and sales teams on various projects spanning print and digital media.
  • Works closely with executive and marketing design team to implement updates to packaging.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams, including Quality Assurance, Product Development, and Purchasing, to align on design intent, development goals, compliance and ordering deadlines for collateral and packaging.
  • Executes promotional material needed for brick-and-mortar campaigns and events by working closely with the Marketing & Sales team.
  • Organizes and project manages specific project goals and maps process to meet deadlines.
  • Gathers information and materials from internal clients to complete tasks.
  • Proofreads work to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Implements and completes design projects by coordinating with respective teams to provide and/or upload final creative elements for print.
  • Performs a variety of other duties as assigned.



QUALIFICATIONS


  • BS/BA in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or related field; substantially relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Intermediate or advanced skills with Adobe Creative Suite, especially Photoshop and InDesign.
  • Basic understanding of graphic design principles.
  • Two (2+) plus years of paid design experience in a company experiencing rapid growth.
  • Possess a ready portfolio of work showcasing the required knowledge and skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to self-monitor and work independently yet know when to seek direction or ask for hel
  • Basic understanding of project management software, Asana is highly desirable.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects within established target dates.
  • Advanced problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to take complex and technical information and translate into consumer-friendly messaging and visuals.
  • Ability to work and communicate in a diverse work environment.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Wage Range:  $22.16 - $29.98 per hour
