Junior Financial Analyst

Job Description
Dynamic and fast-growing Marketing and Media company seeking candidates to join our accounting department as a Junior Financial Analyst. This position includes data analysis, reporting, providing financial insights, analysis, and strategic guidance to support the company's financial planning and decision making process. Organizational skills are essential as are punctuality, dependability, and a pleasant, helpful demeanor. Must be highly motivated and eager to learn. This person will work directly with the CEO, Director of FP&A, the VP of Accounting, and members of the M&A team.

The Position
Responsibilities of the Junior Financial Analyst include:

• Develop, interpret, and implement financial/administrative/accounting concepts or techniques for financial analysis.
• Conduct special studies to analyze financial actions and prepare recommendations for policies and procedures.
• Interpret and apply policies, government legislation, and accounting theories.
• Ensure compliance with internal procedures and regulatory agencies.
• Assist with analyzing financial performance to provide variances for bid, budget, and forecast.
• Assist in the preparation of audits and reports for customers and management.
• Develop Financial Modeling Reporting based on management criteria.
• Create detailed financial and valuation models for potential acquisitions, mergers, divestitures, or investments.
• Run queries from databases to gather data assigned under management's request.
• Review contract documents and correspondence for internal consistency and conformance with established procedures.

Experience and Skills
Qualified candidates for the Junior Financial Analyst position should have the following skills and experience:

• BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university in finance or accounting or equivalent experience
• 2+ years of prior corporate finance or financial planning work experience
• Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to prioritize and multitask while working in a fast paced environment
• Naturally curious to independently learn new tools, concepts, and processes
• Innovative, energized, and self-directed to bring forward and implement process improvements
• Intermediate to advanced level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
