Junior Estimator

Position Summary:

The Junior Estimator works along side the Senior Estimator to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for quoting customer products for quotes (RFQ)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Work with Senior Estimator / Purchasing Manager to obtain scope of work and pricing from suppliers.
• Confirm customer requirements and ensure expectations are fully understood
• Work with suppliers to specify and obtain accurate and competitive pricing on materials and outside services.
• Works with production control personnel to determine lead times, identify scheduling conflicts, production bottlenecks, missing information.
• Discuss changes and adjustment to cost estimates and review with quoting team.
• Complete quote forms and compile related information.
• Organize and manage cost estimating files to ensure historical data is utilized and applied to future quotations.
• Communicate and follow up with customers on active quotes and potential new quotes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills Required:

• Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of ERP System, preferred
• Manage time effectively in order to accomplish the highest priority goals and objectives.
• Demonstrate effective spoken and written communications skills
• Knowledge of machining processes, metal finishing, etc.., preferred.
• Exhibit great organization skills
• Proactive problem solver
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment
• Must be detailed oriented
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
• Ability to maintain sensitive information and confidentiality required.
