Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated, energetic entry level Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. This position will work within the Electrical Engineering team to design and develop electrical hardware for ongoing and upcoming new product development efforts at DEKA.
How you will make an impact:

  • Working with in interdisciplinary team to develop innovative hardware solutions for new medical products from Concept through Production stage.
  • Designing and developing complex analog and digital electrical circuit schematics and layout for printed circuit assemblies.
  • Developing functional design requirements and specifications.
  • Selecting circuit board components including discrete and integrated circuit parts based on analysis of specifications.
  • Testing and troubleshooting circuits and systems with hardware/ software tools and fixtures.
  • Developing prototype circuit designs and developing test fixtures.
  • Perform circuit simulation and modeling to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.
  • Carry out detailed Design Verification activities and documentation of methods and results.
  • Developing firmware code on embedded platforms with low level programming interface.
  • Demonstrating ability to multitask and switch gears as and when necessary in a fast paced environment.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following skills and experience:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Coursework in Analog and Digital Circuit design, Microprocessor Programming.
  • 1+ years of experience in Product design or development.
  • Background in design and analysis of analog and digital circuits.
  • Ability to model circuits using tools such as Matlab and Pspice.
  • Writing test scripts in Python.
  • Microprocessor programming in C/C++ language.
  • Schematic capture and layout using CAD tools such as Orcad or Altium.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues and arrive at the root cause.
  • Experience with PCB design and or FPGA experience preferred
  • Clear and crisp communication, and attention to detail both verbal and written.
  • Good presentation skills.
