SOCIALDEVIANT is looking for a Junior Copywriter to join our ambitious, infinitely kind, and limitlessly composed team of DEVIANT makers in our West Loop Chicago Office. (Note: We are currently working remotely, but moving toward a hybrid work-from-home/in-office work plan.)

Overall Role Description:
The Junior Copywriter will be instrumental in helping grow our business and elevate our creativity across all clients. You’ll work closely with our Creative Directors, Copywriters, art directors, and designers and report directly to a Creative Director, driving the creative vision for a multitude of brands, as a key contributor and maker.
This role strives to ensure that all our creative deliverables are on brand, on strategy, and exceed client expectations. This role also contributes to thought leadership, especially with regard to creative knowledge, trends, and developments.
Specific Responsibilities:
CREATIVITY
- Able to quickly and easily digest creative briefs
- Coordinate with designers / art directors on all copy required
- Implement feedback from team and make necessary corrections
- Participate in brainstorms and ideation sessions, offering up ideas and opportunities
- Produce great creative work, with a special emphasis on concept, copy, and production, responding to feedback well throughout the creative process
- Participate in proposals, pitches, and other new business development activities, as needed
CLIENT PARTNERSHIP
- Apply an understanding of the client, the industry, and the competitive landscape to project goals and deliverables
- Collaborate with internal teams to present creative concepts and creative executions to clients for approvals
- Proactively consider our clients’ businesses and internal SD initiatives
Requirements:
- 2+ years of relative experience working in a creative agency and/or in-house agency with a strong understanding of social, digital, and ideas that drive conversation
- A good understanding of grammar and proactively proofs copy for errors
- Proven creative vision and implementation of great creative work, i.e. a great book
- Ability to concept and deliver effective creative concepts across all channels
- Ability to manage your time in an ever-changing and extremely fast-paced environment across a variety of projects
- Ability to always be in “idea mode,” bringing great concepts and ideas to team brainstorms and projects
- Excellent presentation, public speaking, interpersonal and communication skills
- Above all, kindness, composure, and relentless curiosity
