Reports to: Camp Counselor Hiring Salary Range: $8.00-$9.50

General Statement of Duties
The Junior Camp Counselor is under close supervision by the Recreation and Parks Facilities Supervisor
and the Camp Counselor. The Junior Camp Counselor maintains a leadership role among peer staff and
campers in an active summer day camp.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Excellent public relations and communication skills are required.

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and the public.

• Ability to assist, teach, and lead recreational activities, i.e., board games, arts and crafts, etc.

• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.

• Ability to follow operating procedures.

• Excellent character, integrity, enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control and adaptability.
  

Physical Requirements

Ability to actively participate in camp training, meetings, and program activities.

Desirable Education and Experience
Basic First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.

Special Requirements

Minimum age requirement is 14 years of age
Ability to work varied schedule Monday – Friday from 7:30AM to 6:30PM
