The purpose of the class is to assist the Youth Program Leaders in planning and conducting before and after-school programs, summer day camps, summer playground activities, and other recreational programs. The class works under close supervision according to set procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Knowledge of rules and procedures of a variety of games, athletic sports, arts and crafts is preferred.
- Experience working in the group care of children is preferred.
- Must be at least 15 years of age and between the age of 15-17 at time of employment.
- This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City's current substance abuse policy.
- Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion (18 and older).
- Requires effective communication with internal and external customers.
- The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
