Looking for the perfect "first job"? Then look no further than Hamptons Parks, Recreation & Leisure Services Department. We are excited to open up this year-around position, serving the community and assisting with the implementation of various programs.
The purpose of the class is to assist the Youth Program Leaders in planning and conducting before and after-school programs, summer day camps, summer playground activities, and other recreational programs. The class works under close supervision according to set procedures.
Minimum Requirements
- Knowledge of rules and procedures of a variety of games, athletic sports, arts and crafts is preferred.
- Experience working in the group care of children is preferred.
- Must be at least 15 years of age or older at time of employment.
- This position is safety sensitive and is subject to testing for alcohol and controlled substances in accordance with the City's current substance abuse policy.
- Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion (18 and older).
- Requires effective communication with internal and external customers.
- The incumbent may be considered "essential personnel" during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.

If an applicant is under the age of 16 and employed, the following work restrictions will apply: • May not work during school hours except as part of a Work Experience or Career Exploration program. • May not work before 7:00am or after 7:00pm, except during summer months when the evening hour is extended to 9:00pm. • May not work more than three (3) hours a day on a school day and no more than eighteen (18) hours a week during a school week. • May not work more than eight (8) hours a day on non-school days or more than forty (40) hours a week in non-school weeks. • Will be closely supervised by Youth Program Leader at all times.I understand that the work restrictions listed above will apply?
