VARSITY BRANDS is currently seeking a Junior SAP Basis Administratorto join the growing team at our Farmers Branch, TX headquarters. The Junior SAP Basis Administrator will have responsibilities including installation, upgrade, maintenance and monitoring of SAP systems. At the direction of the Basis Administrators the candidate Will be involved in collaborations with SAP Functional and Development teams, Infrastructure team, Security team, Audit team, and the SAP help desk team to ensure the environment is available, runs properly and efficiently, and meets the needs of the business.
Job Responsibilities
  • Candidate will be expected to learn and become proficient in all aspects of SAP Basis administration, which is a multidiscipline job description combining skills in System administration (of multiple operating systems), networking, relational database administration, IT security, ABAP programming, various forms of batch and other scripting, troubleshooting.
  • Candidate will be partially responsible for monitoring systems, performing regular scheduled maintenance, upgrades, checks, and reporting on status of same to basis and the business.
  • During a probationary period candidate will be responsible for monitoring systems during non-business hours and act as first contact/first level support to gain exposure and as training.

  • Take ownership of assigned work activities and progress to conclusion in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Develop documentation of current systems and processes
  • Candidate will be expected to continue relevant self education as time permits using various online or canned courses.
  • Other duties as proficiency progresses.

Qualifications
  • 0 - 2 years experience working in one of the following disciplines of IT: Systems administration, Web design/development, IT helpdesk, ABAP development, networking
  • Good documentation skills and practices
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving / troubleshooting skills
  • Customer Focus: Outgoing personality, ability to build strong internal / external customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions
  • Good communications skills both written and verbal.
  • Able to collaborate with others to achieve a common goal. Able to work cross functionally throughout the organization and build strong partnerships to meet shared objectives.
  • Self accountable and able to manage own time to meet deadlines
  • Action Oriented: Takes on new opportunities with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm
  • Intellectually curious and willing to evaluate and quickly learn new technologies

Education, Certification and Experience
  • Intermediate / advanced Microsoft Office product experience (e.g., MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS SharePoint, MS Teams, and MS Outlook)
