ADRx is a privately funded preclinical stage biotechnology company located in Thousand Oaks, California. The ADRx team has developed a novel drug discovery technology platform that integrates our deep understanding of protein structure, aggregation, and function. ADRx is leveraging the platform to develop novel therapeutics in neurodegenerative diseases and cancer by targeting amyloid and biomolecular condensation.
ADRx seeks an outstanding Research Associate to join our research team engaged in therapeutic drug discovery targeting amyloid diseases. By evaluating cutting edge technologies profiling both the potency and mechanism of action of molecules, the candidate will contribute to the development of novel therapeutics.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Working with scientists on biochemical assay development and high throughput screening
- Perform protein expression, purification for various targets.
- Characterizations of proteins (e.g., SDS-PAGE, Western blot, HPLC, etc.)
- Maintain common laboratory reagent stocks
- Develop the decision-making abilities to improve protocols, advance projects, proactively maintain laboratories, and perform as a team player
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills will be expected to communicate both experimental design and results to the broader team.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks at one time
- A flexible and innovative approach to the workplace, strong interest in start-up company environments, and a focused commitment to engaging science based pharmaceutical programs.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related field
- Working knowledge of biochemical and molecular biology techniques, such as protein expression and purification, gel electrophoresis, PCR, etc.
- Ability to use basic laboratory equipment (centrifuge, pH meter, pipettes, microscope, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the execution of microplate-based assays, such as endpoint & kinetic assays, luminescence & fluorescence assays, is desirable but not required
- Experience with protein purification and AKTA systems is desirable but not required
- 1+ years of laboratory experience
- Interest in neurodegenerative diseases
