Position Title: Container Mechanic/Forklift Operator

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic/Forklift Operator to join our team at DRY BOX Inc. in Denver. The ideal candidate should be physically fit and able to lift 75+ pounds, with basic welding experience, and experience operating large machinery, preferably with forklifts. Basic computer skills are required. The successful candidate must have their own reliable transportation, be punctual, reliable, and hardworking, with the ability to follow directions and complete all tasks in a timely fashion. They should be able to work independently to complete all known duties once daily duties are taught.

Position Overview: Responsible for basic-to-advanced container repair and maintenance and basic-to-intermediate vehicle repair and maintenance, including brake and oil checks, preventative maintenance, and recommendations of further repairs and maintenance. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and repair all company containers and equipment
  • Maintain and repair all company vehicles
  • Complete preventive maintenance tasks on all equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and determine root cause
  • Keep accurate maintenance records and follow all safety protocols
  • Perform basic welding tasks as needed
  • Operate forklifts and other large machinery as necessary
  • Complete all tasks in a timely and efficient manner
  • Coordinate daily activities and container movements to meet scheduled delivery/pick up times
  • Conduct physical inventory, either monthly or at intervals specified by supervisor
  • Communicate with equipment control, yard managers, suppliers, vendors, drivers and 3rd party transportation providers
  • Report all accidents/near misses, equipment loss, safety violations, environmental spills before the completion of your shift

Qualifications & Skills:

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years experience working as an auto or diesel mechanic
  • Forklift certification

MINIMUM TECHICAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Physically fit and able to lift 75+ pounds
  • Basic welding experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Forklift / large machinery experience
  • Must have own reliable transportation
  • Must be punctual, reliable and hardworking
  • Ability to follow directions and complete all tasks in a timely fashion

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 2+ years working at an auto or diesel mechanic
  • Experience working with shipping containers and shipping container repair

Salary Range:
