Job Description Jr. Electrical Engineer:
Our custom electric car company is seeking a skilled Electric Engineer to join the team in the journey to help shape the future of transportation. Job Title:
Jr. Electrical Engineer, Full-time (M-F, 8:00 am-5:00 pm)
Job Summary:
Develop the electronics systems. Integrate and build the battery pack, BMS, Controller, and charging systems as needed to meet the requirements of the design goal. To be a part of a team working toward the company’s common goal to provide solutions to our customers. Working with the team you will ensure that the systems can communicate, and modify the programming as needed. Assist in the systems optimization for safety, a quality product, and extended battery life. This will aid in the longevity of the system.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
- Design and build a battery pack
- Battery management system development using off-the-shelf components and customization as needed
- Work with the team to develop and fabricate initial components into prototypes
- Work efficiently with the team and autonomously
- Work with the Designer and Fabricator to build prototypes
- Development of the electric powertrain and safety systems
- Development of the controller and charging systems
- Development of the wiring harness and integration of braking systems
- Daily and weekly Vertical Value Stream meetings to stay on task
- Troubleshooting complex electrical systems and performing root cause analysis
- Develop suppliers as needed to provide the designed components for the vehicle
Experience / Qualifications:
- B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- 1+ years’ experience in automotive global electronics manufacturing
- 1+ yrs high voltage and high current circuit production testing (5-250kW)
- Proficiency with electronic measurement equipment such: as LCR meters, hipot, power supplies, battery simulators, load banks, oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, spectrum analyzers, measurement receivers, and network analyzers
- Experience in test automation, product verification, and validation of regulatory-certified products
- Excellent verbal and written communication and analytical skills appropriate for interaction with team members (internal and external customers, suppliers, hardware engineers, test staff & management)
- Test fixture creation
Desired Experience and soft skills:
- Experience in automotive, industrial vehicles, and electric vehicles is a plus+
- Work independently and within a team
- Friendly, punctual, reliable, and a positive attitude
- Participating in hardware design reviews as a technical contributor to ensure designs are testable
- Writing manufacturing test specification documents for internal or external test development
- Ability to lift & carry 40 pounds
Able to work effectively with software programs such as:
- Microsoft Office
- CANalyzer
- LabView
- C Programming
- Linux

Salary: $50,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
