The Jr. Communications Specialist will provide support across the areas of marketing and communications, including writing and editing, marketing and product strategy, brand management, public and community relations, email communications, social media engagement, and web marketing strategy and design. Support will also include program analysis support and developing, creating, and producing business and technical reports, brochures, and other publications and related materials for transportation projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinating and supporting comprehensive communication campaigns
- Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams supporting public affairs activities, creative design, internal and executive communications, media outreach, publication production, digital engagement, educational materials, and other content for print, multimedia, and the Web
- Researching, writing, and editing a wide array of materials including meeting minutes, end-user instructions, business processes, marketing and communications materials, and program documentation
- Copywriting for web, social media, print, and digital collateral
- Assisting senior team members in communicating with client constituents, facilitating the identification and resolution of problems, assisting with logical analysis, ensuring consistency of written products and procedures, coordinating input on software modules, program documents, research materials, and communications deliverables, and handling support requests
- Producing plans and schedules and managing overall program of conference activity
- Coordinating logistics requirements and integration of other required services
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Communication, Journalism, English, Public Relations, Marketing, or related discipline or 4 years of experience.
- 4+ years of relevant experience
- Experience writing and editing, working with graphics, and marketing and production
- Must be a self-starter, self-motivated, and able to work on multiple diverse tasks
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
