Jr. Accountant (Fully Remote)

We are currently holding interviews for a Junior Accountant to join our automotive accounting team. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and self-motivated, with the ability to perform various accounting tasks and ensure that financial records are accurate. As a Junior Accountant, you will be responsible for providing support and assisting in the month end close and preparation of financial statements for management and operations staff. Candidates with accounts payable and/or expense reporting experience are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Accounting Manager, and stay involved with the finance team
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of transactions
• Assist with account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
• Assist with financial analysis and provide insights on financial performance
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary data for financial reporting
• Assist with the interpretation of financial reports and provide recommendations for improvement
• Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls, including SOX compliance
• Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation as required
• Stay updated on technical accounting standards and ensure compliance

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Sage and other accounting software
• Experience or internship in public accounting or financial services is a plus
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
