Payments is a rapidly evolving, high-profile space and JPMorgan Chase (NYSE: JPM), as one of the industry's largest and most important players, has an enormous opportunity to shape its future. The Payment Networks Office is at the nexus of these exciting developments by redefining our relationships with our Network partners (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, etc.).

JPMC is seeking an Executive Director to oversee one of the bank's largest network partnership. This highly visible leadership position not only requires a thorough understanding of payments, but the ability to navigate the quickly evolving and highly complex merchant acquiring and card issuing businesses. The Network Relationship Director will oversee a team responsible for driving the assessment, sizing and integration of Payment Network capabilities to transform and grow the Card Issuing and Merchant Services (CMS) organizations. This position requires working collaboratively with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders to ensure their alignment and drive the successful integration of Network capabilities.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Ownership the network partnership across issuing and acquiring business
  • Holding network accountable for delivering a best-in-class network partnership reflected through their financial, operational and strategic support of JPMCs businesses
  • Engagement with key stakeholders across product, operations and technology to identify gaps and opportunities with our network partnership
  • Alignment of strategic and tactical initiatives to ensure network delivers on JPMC top priorities
  • Escalation of JPMC issues related to network services to ensure immediate engagement and resolution
  • Providing thought leadership around new market opportunities and complex network initiatives/changes
  • Engagement of Senior Stakeholders to drive key decisions, remove impediments and drive effective trade-offs between speed of delivery, operational risk and value-added capabilities
  • Understanding the payments industry and staying abreast of current market environment and trends that could improve cost of payments for our merchants
  • Providing advocacy within JPMC on use / testing of relevant network services or capabilities that align with bank's strategic priorities

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
  • 10+ years experience in the Payments industry (Merchant Acquiring, Credit Cards, Debit Cards, or Network Operations)
  • Payment experience needed to credibly challenge network initiatives and changes and how they may impact customer / client experience
  • Ability to create and manage a large complex project (for new vertical markets and complex Payment Brand updates and optional network products)
  • Ability to work with diverse teams to document current processes (process maps), determine what works well, what doesn't and perform gap analysis
  • Strong executive presence, communication, and senior leadership ability necessary to communicate with C-Suite executives, customers, and key stakeholders and operating committee level engagement.
