A week in the life of a Journeyman Marine Propulsion Engineer:
- Design, development, and evaluation and operation of marine vessels, ship machinery, and related equipment, such as power supply and propulsion systems.
- Review third party design modifications and improvements to mechanical systems
- Perform design reviews, evaluations constructability reviews, helping resolve technical uses and managing information generated through design and construction phase
- Support marine engineering analysis related to vessels
- Help team to create graphical representations of structures
- Inspect equipment or systems
- Research advanced engineering designs or applications
- Support in preparation of technical reports for internal use
- Bachelors Degree in an Engineering field
- Ability to Obtain a Secret level clearance
At least 6+ years of experience in:
- Marine specific fields such as auxiliary systems, propulsion systems, fluids and hydraulics.
At least one (1) year demonstrated experience in:
- Shipbuilding
- Supporting a major system acquisition program (DHS/USCG Level I, DoD ACAT I or equivalent)

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $110,000. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
