The Financial Aid Representative is responsible for helping students obtain employment at off campus work-study locations, while satisfying the government program requirements such as America Reads and Community Service. This position also conducts a technical review of students applications and determines eligibility based on reviewing outside programs that may affect eligibility of the student's Financial Aid. This position is also responsible for supplying Financial Aid information for students being considered for other aid sources at various outside agencies. The Financial Aid Representative is responsible for analyzing the effects of tuition appeals, residency appeals, withdraw appeals and academic progress appeals relating to Financial Aid recipients. The impact can have major financial implications for students. This often results in adjustments to the Financial Aid file. Also, the position oversees office processes such as Document Imaging and file organization. The is responsible for the National Student Loan Data Base System (NSLDS) export and import processes as part of the Transfer, Monitor and Alert reporting of the Department of Education. This informs our office of students who may have exceeded loan amounts, defaulted on loans, receiving aid at two institutions, and notifying us of student over or close to their Lifetime Pell amounts. Failure to do so can result in audit findings. This position must be available on a daily basis for appointments with students with issues or concerns; such as progress, dependency override, general questions, as well as seeing all Work-Study students to complete their paper work for the program.
Salary Range: $55,660 - 71,153 (commensurate with experience)

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree.
One to three years Financial Aid experience.
Must be detail oriented, ability to handle confidential matters.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have knowledge of FERPA guidelines.
Must have fundamental knowledge of relevant tax issues that can affect the federal needs analysis.
Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Title IV aid programs.
A knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, PHEAA (Alec), COD (loan information) and National Student Loan Data Base (NSLDS - loan/grant information) are needed.
At this time, this position operates on a hybrid schedule, with an on-campus/in-office presence at least three days a week.
