In this position you will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Under the guidance of a VR Counselor, you will provide job development, placement and supported employment services for consumers referred directly from the Department of Mental Health's Individual Placement and Support Program (IPS).
  • Provide planning and guidance towards the achievement of successful vocational outcomes.
  • Provide job skills training on the work site to supported employment consumer.
  • Maintain case notes weekly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Or; a high school diploma and experience in career counseling or related case management may substitute for the required bachelor's degree.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively.
  • Must be able to travel throughout the day to assist consumers while at work.
  • Must be able to work in various work environments and on a flex schedule to meet consumers needs.
  • Knowledge and skill in conducting needs assessments.
  • Knowledge of fact gathering methods and interviewing techniques.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Knowledge of principles of behavior adjustment techniques.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals, families, etc.
