The perfect candidate for the Dir. of Maintenance role would be able to perform each essential job tasks satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Other duties may be assigned to this position as needed.
Essential Job Tasks
  • Coordinate on-road maintenance
  • Liase with maintenance, charter, and flight ops to ensure the proper coordination of road maintenance
  • Assist in any parts orders shipping and receiving, as needed.
  • Input all log pages into the computer system for each aircraft (including computerized maintenance)
  • Track all airframe, engine cycles, Engine times and landing for all aircraft and report accordingly
  • Ensure all historical log books have the correct times and cycles and have been calculated accurately by the crew
  • Input all airframe time into FOS
  • Input all mechanical discrepancies into EBIS and create work orders for repair
  • Complete a discrepancy form for each aircraft with maintenance issues
  • Manage all incoming outside invoices and get approval by managers, then transmit to accounting or ensure proper payment
  • Ensure all aircraft documentation is up to date and in the correct folders, binders, etc.
  • Update any maintenance manuals in accordance with revisions
  • Input data into online portals for engine, airframe, APU, or avionics programs and deliver output to accounting, to ensure on-time payment
  • Review, inventory and organize aircraft and engine records for storage
  • Audit aircraft and engine records to ensure proper location and protection
  • Assist the Technical and Quality teams in locating pertinent documentation
  • Produce daily/weekly/monthly reports on the status of aircraft and engine records
  • Plans track and schedule aircraft maintenance events
  • Research records through contacts with OEMs, repair facilities in obtaining life limited part trace and complete operational and technical aircraft and engine documentation
  • Ensure that comprehensive data packages exist for aircraft and engines
  • Scan select technical and trace documents
  • Track all Airframe, Engine cycles, Engine times and landing for all aircraft
  • Ensure all log books have the correct times and times have been calculated accurately by the crew
  • Input all log pages airframe time and crew times
  • Input all mechanical discrepancies and create a work order for repair
Core Competencies
  • Experience working for Part 135 Charter Operator preferred
  • Ability to multi-task, collect and organize data, define problems and provide required reporting in a timely manner
  • Experience utilizing aviation software preferred, not required; Intermediate computer skills with Microsoft Office
  • Meet the current interview and hiring minimum age and flight hours requirements set by the FAA and Company.
Work Environment
  • This position requires the ability to work near moving mechanical parts.
  • Withstand outdoor weather conditions within an open air hangar and on the flight line for extended periods.
  • The noise level may be loud and use of headset is required.
  • Willing and able to work extended duty periods on sequential days, as well as a varied schedule, including early morning, nights, overnights and weekends.
Physical Demands
  • Able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, squat and/or crawl.
  • Able to sit without standing for long periods of time.
  • Capable of lifting or moving items at different heights weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Able to adhere to the visual demands set in the medical standards established by the FAA.
  • Able to hear clearly verbal communications in person, on the telephone, and over a headset with ambient aircraft and passenger noise.
  • Possess the stamina needed to work long days, on sequential days, with frequent change in temperatures, climate and weather conditions.
  • Must be able to move about the aircraft and perform all required functions freely, effectively and quickly in confined environment.
  • Must be able to sit in pilots seat or assigned jump seat with seatbelt and shoulder harness fastened without any modifications.
Travel
  • Travel up to 25% of the time, including nights, weekends, holidays and overnight stays. Able to work extended hours with lack of scheduling control and be ready to report to work with little notice. Willing to relocate while on flight rotations (company assigned duty only) based on the Companys operational needs.
Required Education/Experience
  • To serve as Director of Maintenance under 119.69(a) a person must hold a mechanic certificate with airframe and powerplant ratings and either:
  • Have 3 years of experience within the past 6 years maintaining aircraft as a certificated mechanic, including, at the time of appointment as Director of Maintenance, experience in maintaining the same category and class of aircraft as the certificate holder uses; or
  • (2) Have 3 years of experience within the past 6 years repairing aircraft in a certificated airframe repair station, including 1 year in the capacity of approving aircraft for return to service.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in corporate flight department or similar, including dispatching/scheduling experience with both domestic and international flights.
  • Minimum 5 years of flight department management / leadership experience with direct reports.
  • Strong strategic planning, communication, analytical, problem-solving, risk assessment, time management and critical thinking skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of leading safety initiatives within a flight department.
  • Strong focus on customer service and the overall customer experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of compliance and government regulations requirements and safety systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field highly desired.
