You will build strong competencies in data structures and algorithms, along with a technical fascination for how everything ties together. You will need to have a solid foundational knowledge of computer engineering and intellectual curiosity to understand the business.
Meet our team:
The payments engineering team is responsible for the core movement of money at PayPal. We design, develop, enhance and support processes that actually move money at PayPal. Our solutions need to scale across millions of such interactions globally and integrate with various other vendors while providing high availability to the business.
Your day to day:
As a key member of the Payments engineering team, you will architect, design, test, deploy and maintain software solutions.
What do you need to bring:
Knowledge of UNIX
Some SQL knowledge - preferably Oracle
Working knowledge of web technologies (such as HTTP, HTML/DOM, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX) is beneficial
Interest in performance tuning in grid computing/large scale clusters a plus
Ability to work in a fast paced, iterative development environment
Participation in any Open source project is a big plus

The U.S. national annual pay range for this role is $60900 to $147400
