Job Duties
As an entry level Java Programmer, the you'll work on multiple IT projects with responsibilities in Analysis, Code, Test, and Deployment. You will perform new development, testing, deployment, enhancements, and maintenance and and follow security best practices as you also prepare data requirements and program specifications that are complete and concise. The Java Programmer also prepares application documentation, user documentation, and user training materials, and performs systems analysis and design for moderately complex applications/system. This position will have an collaborative role as well, as you'll confer with analysts, domain experts, and users to understand needs and document requirements. and conduct training as needed. Note: This position supports systems that access Federal Tax Information.
Minimum Qualifications
Basic knowledge of Java related technologies and SQL; data systems; program coding and documentation; and IT security guidelines.
Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, analytical and computer skills.
Ability to write code and programs; update, repair, modify, and expand existing programs; perform work on multiple IT projects; support and maintain existing systems as required.
Interact effectively in a team environment; work independently, typically with strict deadlines, heavy workloads and changing priorities.
Additional Considerations
Prefer experience working with JAVA, Eclipse, Spring, Hibernate, JBoss, and Subversion and/or related tools, and experience, education and/or training in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field..
