Job Description:
- As a Senior Java Developer/Programmer, you will collaborate with our client's application development staff to enhance the client's Provider Screening and Enrollment portal. Your role will focus on improving the application's maintainability, efficiency, accessibility, and user experience, and resolving identified issues, including bug fixes. Additionally, you will recommend changes based on business requirements. The work for this position is expected to be done remotely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the client's application development staff to enhance the portal's functionality and performance.
- Understand and align technology base with customer business goals.
- Develop and execute test scripts to ensure that rules are functioning correctly.
- Work closely with testers and subject matter experts to identify and implement code changes and additions.
- Identify and recommend specific code changes to State staff.
- Collaborate with Technical Architects and Leads to gain a comprehensive understanding of the software application developed by the open-source community.
- Collaborate with Business Analysts (BA) and Quality Assurance (QA) teams and subject matter experts (SME) to identify and address application errors or bugs.
- Perform software development maintenance, including bug fixes and change requests.
- Adhere to Object-Oriented programming best practices.
- Consult and collaborate with in-house experts to ensure proper implementation of UI standards.
- Conduct thorough system and application code testing to ensure error-free deployments.
- Ensure error-free code repository check-ins.
- Provide documentation and knowledge transfer for Client Services @ DHS staff.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Seven (7) years of experience in Java development.
- Five (5) years of combined Java-based User Interface experience in web development, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and JQuery.
- Four (4) years of experience in automated testing.
- Four (4) years of experience with Spring MVC.
- Four (4) years of Drools experience, specifically with Decision tables.
- Four (4) years of experience with the State government developing a Medicaid Provider Enrollment application.
Desired Skills:
- Two (2) years of combined experience in designing and architecting applications.
- Two (2) years of experience with web services.
- Experience working with WebSphere application server.
- Experience working with JPA/Hibernate.
- Experience with web application testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium/WebDriver).
- Experience with JavaScript testing frameworks.
- Experience with Maven.
- Experience with Eclipse.
- Experience with Oracle Database.
