Job Title: School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
Location:Jarell, Texas
School Year: 2023-2024
Hours: Full-Time (37.5 Hours per Week)
Work Schedule: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Caseload/Details:
- Approximately 60+students, subject to change.
- Working alongside another SLPA to service the site.
- Duties include being on-site, scheduling, collaborating with teachers and staff to create student schedules, performing therapy, assisting virtual SLPs, being physically present during assessments, no IEP meetings, and possibly overseeing multiple students at once.
- Creative and flexible approaches are encouraged as long as essential work is accomplished.
- Onsite work only.

This position offers full-time hours and the opportunity to work with a variety of students at different school sites.
Position Overview: As a School-Based SLPA in Jarrell, TX, you will play a vital role in assisting students in developing their communication skills. You will work with a diverse caseload, helping students with moderate-severe and mild-moderate needs. Your duties will include being onsite, performing therapy, assisting in the scheduling process, collaborating with teachers and staff, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy to students in accordance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with speech-Language Pathologists and educators to support student success.
- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Adapt therapy sessions to meet the needs of students with diverse communication abilities.
Requirements:
- Texas SLPA license.
- Experience working with students in an educational setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
