Principal Data Scientist - Mainframe Solutions (Plano, TX)
At Broadcom's Mainframe Division, we're leveraging the power of AI to revolutionize the mainframe experience for Fortune 500 clients. We're searching for a driven and impactful Data Scientist to join our team, someone who thrives on translating business challenges into innovative AI solutions with real-world impact.
What you'll do:

• Design, develop, and deploy cutting-edge machine learning models using LLM and other relevant technologies to solve critical mainframe challenges for developers and operations teams.
• Own the entire data science lifecycle, from problem definition and data acquisition to model training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Build and automate MLOps pipelines to streamline model performance monitoring and evaluation.
• Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of your solutions into our product offerings.
• Document your work extensively, clearly communicating complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
• Represent Broadcom at industry-leading conferences and deliver technical talks showcasing your expertise.

Who you are:

• Highly motivated and self-driven, with a passion for applying AI to real-world business problems.
• PhD in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field preferred + 3+ years of experience (Master's degree + 6+ years of industry experience considered).
• Excellent programming skills in Python, R, Scala, or other languages used for ML development.
• Deep understanding of the data science lifecycle and experience with MLOps pipelines.
• Expert in model evaluation methods and metrics, able to clearly document and communicate results.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
• Proven experience releasing and supporting machine learning solutions in production for customers.

Bonus points:

• Familiarity with the mainframe environment and its unique challenges.
• Experience with DevOps practices and cloud technologies.
• Passion for presenting technical topics to various audiences.

Compensation and Benefits
The annual base salary range for this position is $91,200 - $152,000
This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
