Position: Japanese Bilingual PT Simultaneous Interpreter - Remote
Work Location: Remote (Full-Remote)
Work Hours: 20 hours per week with morning shift (Typically 6:00 AM ET to 10:00 AM or 11:00 AM)
*Depending on capability, with the possibility of increased hours if meeting frequency rises. Occasional evening assignments may be assigned based on availability.
OVERVIEW:
A global leading manufacturer in the automotive industry is seeking an experienced Simultaneous Interpreter proficient in both Japanese and English for their team. The role involves providing accurate interpretation in both directions, from Japanese to English and vice versa with the provided equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
• Provide real-time interpretation during virtual meetings, conferences, and discussions related to automotive research and development.
• Ensure accurate and clear communication between team members, stakeholders, and external partners by providing interpretation.
• Develop a deep understanding of automotive terminology and concepts to effectively convey complex information across languages.
• Stay informed about the latest advancements in automotive technology to enhance interpretation quality.
• Collaborate with diverse teams, accommodating various linguistic needs within the organization.
• Assist in the translation and interpretation of technical documents, reports, and research findings related to automotive R&D.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy in the translation of materials to maintain a high level of quality.
• Navigate cultural nuances to facilitate effective communication and understanding among team members from different backgrounds.
• Adapt language and communication style to align with the cultural expectations of diverse stakeholders.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, and researchers to coordinate interpretation schedules and ensure seamless communication flow.
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide language support for collaborative projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in Linguistics, Translation, Business Administration, Communication or a related field; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Proven experience as a Simultaneous Interpreter of Japanese and English, preferably in the automotive or technical field.
• Willingness to develop strong knowledge of automotive terminology and technical concepts.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with virtual communication tools and platforms.
• Flexibility to meet the demands of company for irregular working hours when necessary.
