Position: Japanese Bilingual Accountant
Work hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Location: Schaumburg, IL (Hybrid Remote)
FLSA: Exempt, Direct-Hire, Full-Time
A global steel trading company is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Japanese Bilingual Accountant. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will be assisting a wide range of financial activities to ensure accurate and compliant accounting practices. You will be also closely communicating with the sales team for accounting purposes. Primary responsibilities will include performing AP/AR, general accounting functions including month-end closing, assist external CPA and financial auditors. Qualified candidate must be able to speak and read Japanese at business level.
Responsibilities:
Perform Accounts Payable and Receivable functions.
Maintain precise customer account information.
Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closures.
Prepare and record journal entries when necessary.
Facilitate communication and assist in the preparation of documents for external audits and regulatory inspections.
Collaborate with the sales department on accounting matters.
Pursue process improvements for increased productivity and efficiency.
Deliver accurate reports with minimal errors.
Cultivate effective communication within the team and external contacts.
Manage various clerical duties and undertake special projects as required.
Qualifications:
Bilingual in Japanese - business level required.
At least 3 years of accounting/finance experience.
Strong knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
