Job Title:Janitorial Technician
Reports To: Supervisor
Location: Barrington, IL
Schedule: Mon- Sunday >>>>5 hour clean (11 pm- 4 am)
Position Summary: The Janitorial Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining a clean and sanitary environment within the restaurant. This position ensures that all restaurant areas, including dining areas, kitchens, restrooms, and surrounding spaces, meet established cleanliness and hygiene standards. The Janitorial Technician contributes to creating a positive dining experience for guests and supports the restaurant's overall operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Cleaning and Sanitizing:
- Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting, to maintain cleanliness in dining areas, kitchen, and other designated spaces.
- Ensure that all surfaces, equipment, and fixtures are regularly sanitized and disinfected according to health and safety guidelines.
Restroom Maintenance:
- Regularly clean and stock restrooms with necessary supplies, such as toilet paper, soap, and paper towels.
- Monitor and clean restroom facilities to ensure a tidy and sanitary environment for guests.
Waste Management:
- Properly handle and dispose of waste, including sorting recyclables and trash.
- Monitor and empty trash bins in dining and kitchen areas regularly.
Floor Care:
- Maintain the cleanliness of restaurant floors, including regular sweeping, mopping, and spot cleaning.
- Address spills and stains promptly to prevent slips and falls.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Report any malfunctioning cleaning equipment to the management for prompt repair or replacement.
- Ensure that cleaning tools and equipment are properly cleaned and stored after use.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with kitchen staff and other team members to coordinate cleaning activities during and after operating hours.
- Communicate effectively with management regarding any maintenance or cleanliness issues.
Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment.
- Follow established procedures for handling cleaning chemicals and materials safely.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that require standing, bending, and lifting.
Working Conditions:
- The job involves standing for extended periods and performing physical tasks.
- Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays based on the restaurant's operating schedule.
