Job Description

The Janitorial Project Manager is responsible for directing day-to-day operations of the federal site program and implementing programmatic and administrative policies and procedures in order to attain program goals and objectives. The Janitorial Project Manager is also responsible for making programmatic as well as administrative recommendations to the Operations Manager in accordance with Didlake's overall goals and objectives; serves as a primary liaison between Didlake Corporate office and its clients and staff. The Janitorial Project Manager also serves as a team leader who is responsible for establishing and maintaining a positive and constructive team spirit among all Didlake/site staff members.

The Project Manager is considered essential personnel with the ability to respond to work in a timely manner as determined by contract needs.

  • Plans, directs and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of the project are accomplished within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
  • Reviews project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project and coordinates with Didlake Human Resources for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Confers with project staff to outline work plan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure the project progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Prepares project reports for management, clients, or others.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide advice and to resolve problems.
  • Oversees efficiency and quality control indicators to ensure contract requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Reviews and implements safety procedures to met federal and company standards; monitors activities where accidents may occur, halting any operation or activity that constitutes an imminent hazard to personnel or equipment; assists in the activities of the safety committee by providing technical and administrative support.
  • Supervises project staff evaluates workers' performances and makes recommendations on personnel actions.
  • Provides leadership to staff by fostering teamwork while balancing team and individual responsibilities; gives feedback to nurture a positive team spirit and quality performance; and, models dependability, hard work, strong business ethics, and professional personal appearance.
  • Fosters an atmosphere that promotes Human Rights for all clients and ensures training, incident reporting, and awareness of responsibilities of all personnel regarding Human Rights.

  • Completes required paperwork and/or documentation.

  • Responsible for following safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
  • During inclement weather, provide proper upkeep by removing snow from walkways, building entrances, dock ramps, and spreading snow/ice melting chemicals.
  • Completes and maintains all required Didlake training.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree plus three (3) years relevant work experience or AA Degree plus five (5) years relevant work experience.
  • Three (3) years prior management experience managing custodial staff within a commercial environment.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Possess the ability to pass a background check.
  • Familiarity with federal contracts, budgets, safety, and personnel management regulations required.
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions required.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact with, train, and resolve the personnel issues of people with disabilities.
