POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Janitor/Facilities Maintenance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the order, cleanliness, safety, and overall functionality of our facilities. This position requires a proactive and hands-on approach to address day-to-day maintenance tasks, ensuring a welcoming and well-maintained environment for both employees and visitors.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Cleaning and Sanitation:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, break rooms, common areas, and retail store regularly.
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies. Place orders for supplies as needed, adhering to budgetary constraints.
- Collect and dispose of trash in accordance with established procedures.
- Ensure proper recycling practices are followed.
- Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of all floor surfaces, including carpets and hard floors.
- Operate floor cleaning equipment as needed.
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Conduct basic maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, addressing minor plumbing problems, and resolving simple electrical issues.
- Report and communicate any major maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Monitor and address safety hazards, ensuring a secure environment for all occupants.
- Assist in the implementation of emergency procedures.
- Work with others on the maintenance team in addressing inclement weather.
- Report any security concerns or incidents promptly.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience in janitorial or facility maintenance roles.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and procedures.
- Basic understanding of maintenance and repair tasks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting and bending.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
