Job Description:
- The Facility Janitorial & Grounds position is an hourly position, and reports to EHS leader.
- The position is responsible for maintaining the general cleanliness of the facility & assist with the upkeep of the building & grounds within and surrounding the Atlanta plant.
- Individual must be motivated to fully utilize their time to accomplish the duties and responsibilities of the job.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow and enforce all safety, environmental and health rules and procedures, training, and initiatives.
- Maintain the Building, Grounds and Equipment by applying the principles of TPM with a strong focus on 5S: Sorting, Setting in Order, Shinning, Standardizing and Sustaining. (General training)
- Monitor and maintain cleanliness of interior work and common areas of the plant, including bathrooms and breakrooms.
- Complete duties within specified timeline and resources.
- Assist in maintaining the buildings, attachments, and grounds by:
- Operating floor cleaner
- Assist BGL with maintaining plant lighting – replacing lamps as required.
- Maintain cleanliness of walkways throughout the facility (Pedestrian walkways)
- Wipe down guardrails along aisles.
- Assist in placement of facility signage as needed.
- Maintain inside and outside areas of the facility by performing tasks as picking up trash and painting as necessary.
- Assist in inspection and maintaining cleanliness of facility safety equipment (i.e. safety eye wash stations) as necessary.
- Moves furniture as required.
- Cleans, polishes, and waxes the floors in the common areas and outer production areas.
- Lays floor tile and ceiling tile in required areas.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks.
- Performs other related duties consistent with the nature of the job as directed by the supervisor.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- The employee should hold the following abilities:
- Properly use tools and housekeeping resources (examples – mop, broom, powered industrial floor scrubber, shovel, pick, paint brush).
- Forklift Driver
- Assess and only operate equipment when all guarding and safety devices are in proper working order.
- Regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility are required.
- Ability to work well in a team or alone.
COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES
- The employee must be able to:
- Operate a computer or other keyboard instrument.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- The employee should have the following:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalency
- Must be 18 years old or older.
- Some manufacturing experience is preferred.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The employee should possess the ability to:
- Ability to routinely lift up to 40 lbs. without assistance.
- Ability to routinely lift up to 80 lbs. with assistance.
- Work for up to 12 hours in extreme hot/cold manufacturing environment
- Walk/stand on concrete floors continuously for up to 12 hours.
- Routinely ascend and descend stairs and ladders as work area requires.
- Safeguard self with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – steel toed shoes, ear plugs, eye protection (glasses, goggles, and/or facemask) as necessary for task
- Ability to operate powered industrial vehicles.
- Bending or twisting
- Push/drive floor sweeping and cleaning equipment or tools as necessary for housekeeping duties.
- Comply with all plant rules and corporate policies regarding business conduct.
Job Type: Contract
Salary: Up to $18.00 per hour
