Clallam County is seeking qualified candidates for Jail Nurse Manager - Registered Nurse (RN). This is a leadership and supervisory position within Clallam County Sheriff's Office under the general supervision of the Chief Corrections Deputy. Medical consultation is made with the Jail Physicians. The Jail Nurse Manager oversees the team of nurses who work in Clallam County Corrections Facility. This position performs the duties of a nurse in the jail where needed.
Work is characterized by independent judgment and discretion in meeting program and agency goals and objectives; carrying out program activities; reporting on results; and contributing to overall program development, implementation, monitoring, coordinating, and evaluating. There is an expectation for leadership, planning, coalition building, collaboration, coordination, policy development and evaluation in partnership with organizations such as healthcare providers, community agencies and other organizations.
Incumbent will be responsible to: Provide professional nursing expertise to related programs where required. Provide orientation, teaching and guidance to nursing staff to assure safe practice and quality of services. Assure nursing staff competencies and use of evidence-based practices. Develop and sustain effective working relationships with partner agencies and community partners. Conduct interviews and make recommendations for hiring. Complete performance evaluations; recommend personnel actions including coaching and/or discipline. Work closely with the Chief Corrections Deputy and Jail Physician in organizational planning, including the development, implementation and evaluation of agency goals and priorities. Prepare and implement policies and procedures in various inmate medical program areas. Research and write grant proposals to support inmate medical programs and activities.

Education/Training
- B.S.N. degree or related advanced nursing degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Associates Degree from an approved nursing program for RN required.
- Current Washington State Registered Nurse License
- Licenses must be maintained in an active status without suspension or revocation throughout
Experience
Five years' experience as an RN
Two years of supervisory experience required
