Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Shop Foreman to lead our service department's team of technicians. The Shop Foreman will play a crucial role in overseeing daily operations, coordinating workflow, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and efficiency in vehicle repairs and maintenance.

Pay Range: $125,000 - $175,000 commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage a team of service technicians, assigning work tasks, and ensuring that all repairs and maintenance services are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Provide technical guidance and support to service technicians, assisting with diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair procedures as needed.
• Monitor workflow in the service department, prioritizing work orders and coordinating with service advisors to ensure that customer vehicles are serviced in a timely manner and that promised delivery times are met.
• Conduct regular inspections of completed repairs to ensure quality and accuracy, and provide feedback and coaching to technicians to support their professional development and success.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior technicians, providing guidance on proper repair techniques, safety protocols, and dealership policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle repairs and maintenance services, including labor hours, parts used, and diagnostic findings, and ensure that all documentation is completed in compliance with dealership and manufacturer guidelines.
• Monitor and maintain equipment and tools in the service department, ensuring that they are properly maintained and calibrated for safe and effective use.
• Collaborate with service advisors, parts department staff, and other dealership departments to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer experiences.
• Stay informed about industry trends and new technologies in automotive repair and maintenance, and make recommendations for continuous improvement in service department operations.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, fluid flushes, and tire rotations, according to manufacturer specifications.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems on Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension, and drivetrain components.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment and software to identify and troubleshoot vehicle issues accurately and efficiently.
• Perform vehicle inspections and road tests to identify and address any additional maintenance or repair needs.
• Follow dealership and manufacturer guidelines and procedures for warranty and recall repairs, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
• Document all work performed on vehicles accurately and thoroughly, including parts used, labor hours, and diagnostic findings.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers to explain recommended repairs and provide estimates for labor and parts costs.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including tools, equipment, and service bays, to ensure safety and efficiency.
• Complete work as assigned on repair orders in a timely fashion.
• Notify other service personnel if work cannot be completed as promised.
• Keep up to date on manufacturer training and certifications.
• Understand and follow all state and federal regulations such as those governing the disposal of hazardous wastes.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a formal automotive training program or apprenticeship preferred.
• Previous experience as an automotive technician, with a minimum of 1 years of experience working on Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles preferred.
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve performance goals and objectives.
• Certification from Jaguar Land Rover or other relevant manufacturer training programs preferred.
• ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification preferred.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex vehicle issues efficiently.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and software, including JLR-specific diagnostic tools and software.
• Excellent mechanical aptitude and knowledge of automotive systems and components.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical information and provide guidance and support to technicians.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
