Responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of technical and patient care functions under the supervision of a pharmacist or nurse.
- Prepare and dispense medications to patients in accordance with prescription orders and established policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate medication records and inventory levels.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns.
- Assist with the preparation of sterile products using aseptic technique.
- Monitor patients' response to medication therapy and report any adverse reactions or changes in condition.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective medication use.
- Provide education to patients on proper medication administration and use.
Skills:
- Hospital experience, preferably in an acute or critical care setting.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacy technician practices.
- Proficient in patient service and communication skills.
- Familiarity with aseptic technique for preparing sterile products.
- Experience with IV infusion and inhalation therapies.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
