POSITION:IT Support Specialist
SPLIT SHIFT:Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
PAY RATE:$22.00 - $24.00 per hour, DOE
LOCATION: Fargo, ND
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The Information Technology Department provides technology tools and support to all employees of TrueNorth Steel and affiliated companies. As part of the IT team, the IT Support Specialist is responsible for supporting TrueNorth Steel's end-users, by solving their technical issues, while providing excellent customer service. This is a customer-facing position that requires information retention skills and a high level of motivation to learn. The primary role of this position is to manage incoming calls, emails, and tickets, and provide support by detailing ticket information, managing follow-up calls, troubleshooting service issues, and communicating with all team members. It is the responsibility of this role to work tickets and calls received and handle all communications in an efficient manner to ensure the users' needs are met.

ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• First point of contact for user technology issues.
• Responsible for managing incoming calls, emails, and tickets.
• Manage support process end-to-end, including follow-up calls, troubleshooting service issues, communicating, and collaborating with team members.
• Ensures all work tickets/calls are received and handled efficiently.
• Installation, configuration, and support of end-user hardware and software.
• Project resource for IT and Corporate projects as needed.
• Responsible to gain the knowledge needed to support the hardware and software used in the environment.
• Assist in developing documentation for assigned systems, such as troubleshooting guides and operating instructions.
• Grow and maintain technical and functional knowledge of emerging technologies.
• Embrace and demonstrate the qualities of the TrueNorth Steel Game Changer definition.
• Prompt and dependable attendance.
• Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND QUALITIES
• Maintains strong technical and functional knowledge of IT systems, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Displays the highest level of customer service to all TrueNorth Steel staff.
• Strong understanding of IT systems, hardware, and software.
• Communication - Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word and in writing clearly and concisely.
• Organized - Possessing the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Computer Science, Networking or related field or equivalent work experience in a related field.
• 1 - 3 years previous experience in IT preferred.
