Job Summary:
The IT Support Specialist (ITSS) provides endpoint management and general IT support for an individual campus location. The ITSS Is responsible for client-side desktop, laptop, telephone, printer support as well as support for IntelliTec employees. Provides limited support for students to support participation in their academic environment. Provides network and server support on a limited basis. Reports day-to-day to the Campus Director but also takes technical direction from the Director of IT and coordinates with both for continuity of support activities.
Essential Duties:
- Provide IT support through the IntelliTec Help Desk for users at the campus level, including endpoint support, user management and password management.
- Maintain and troubleshoot endpoint assets such as desktops, laptops, company owned mobile phones, desk phones. Acquire new assets as required and decommission assets no longer serviceable or usable in the company.
- Setup and relocate IT equipment, such as computers, printers, and copiers according to changing campus conditions and employee hiring.
- Provide local networking support to include wireless troubleshooting, network infrastructure and configuration changes, cable runs and repair and testing.
- Provide limited server and infrastructure support as directed by the IT Director.
- Train new hires and current employees in the use of IT equipment including computer and phone use, voicemail, local and cloud applications, and program specific software. Maintain proficiency in these systems and software packages to adequately perform duties.
- Assist and provide basic IT security support at the user and local area network level.
Secondary Duties:
- Attend campus operational meetings (if applicable) and collaborate with campus staff as required to fulfill duties.
- Attend IT meetings as scheduled by the IT Director.
- Regularly train in IT skills for currency and growth as well as participate in training for college operations (MaxKnowledge)
Working Hours
Schedule will be established within the hours of operation to meet campus and departmental needs. The hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00am to 9:00pm. Remote work is only authorized when specifically approved by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Associate’s degree in Information Systems/Technology, Networking, or a related field.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in Information Technology with at least 1 year working with infrastructures in use by the College. In lieu of a degree, 3 years of total experience is required.
- License(s)/Certification(s): Current CompTIA A+ CE within 6 months of hire, required to maintain currency for duration of tenure.
