THE OPPORTUNITY
Come grow with us! Galvion has an exciting opportunity for an Information Technology Support Specialist to join our team in Newport, VT. In this role, you will support our Newport, VT facility as well as remote users and other sites as needed. This is a full-time, onsite role in our Newport, VT location.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
In this highly visible and critical role, you will provide high-quality customer service surrounding customer requests by running diagnostic programs, isolating problems, and implementing solutions. In addition, you will effectively navigate a fast moving, collaborative, demanding, and results-oriented work environment.
YOU WILL BE EVALUATED ON YOUR ABILITY TO
• Provide excellent customer service to all levels of employees including customers, peers, and leadership for computer systems, software, and hardware help desk requests.
• Work autonomously on various projects and take on new projects as needed.
• Respond to customer requests in a timely manner and maintain contact with the client until issues are resolved.
• Maintain and manage Galvion computer assets.
• Thoroughly document all work in ticketing system (FreshService).
• Use remote monitoring and management tools to diagnose problems, install software and configure peripherals.
• Remotely install, modify, and repair computer issues.
• Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN) and other systems.
• Assist in administering Active Directory Users and Computers for Galvion.
• Stay current with new technologies and offer suggestions to offer improvements.
• Maintain and update documentation of all relevant I.T. systems and services.
• Provide end user training during onboarding of new employees.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED
• Bachelor's degree, Technical School graduate or equivalent I.T. experience.
• A minimum of 6 years applied I.T. experience at Tier II / Tier III levels.
• Proven working experience in providing Help Desk support.
• Implement various Cyber Security requirements
• Ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues.
• Working knowledge of configuring and troubleshooting Windows 10/11.
• Knowledge of Virtualization technologies; VMWare, Hyper-V.
• TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN.
• Microsoft Office 365 / Azure / Azure AD.
• AD user management, understanding of Group Policy Management.
• VoIP unified communication platforms (internal and cloud based).
• Networking, Server, Desktop, Azure, Office 365 Certifications a plus.
