Position Description
The IT Support Senior Technician has an expert level of technical knowledge and experience in one or more IT-related areas. This position's scope of responsibility includes providing technical support and assistance to departments, faculty, staff, and students with the use of hardware and some software support and maintenance. The IT Support Senior Technician will also specialize in hardware and software that support institutional strategic initiatives, and manage area or unit IT projects that impact multiple departments or units.
Major/Essential Functions
  • Provides technical orientation of customers pertaining to the operation of AV equipment.
  • Responsible to successfully deploy, maintain, and manage customized AV control systems that are built using Extron Pro Series control products and Extron Global Configurator Plus software.
  • Provide troubleshooting assistance with video conferencing software integration with AV equipment to insure connectivity.
  • Provide backup assistance and support to end-users for the video conferencing and calling solutions, Digital Signage platform, and for the Room Reservation System.
  • Provides support, assistance, and coordinates setup for Internal and External events. Be available after hour and weekends when needed. Transporting, setting up, and installing media equipment and audiovisual support tools, including speakers, projectors, projector screens, and laptops for External events. Disassembling equipment, wiring and support tools in a safe manner.
  • Perform maintenance of Audio Visual equipment and testing systems by orchestrating the efforts between Classroom Technology, Datacenter, Networking and engaging the vendor when necessary.
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory of all AV equipment and supplies
  • Performs other duties and tasks as may be assigned from time to time, consistent with established verbal and written policies, procedures, and schedules.
  • Assist Associate Managing Director planning, and coordinating all projects, timelines, and milestones supporting the classroom Technology section.
  • Ability to provide ideas to develop automated process requested and/or suggested by end-users.
  • Developing good relationships with clients to keep events, lectures, etc. moving, and to help out coordinators.
  • Prioritize and complete support tickets created by end-users accurately and timely.
  • Provide cross-training to other staff members and departments as requested by supervisor.
  • Adhere to all TTUHSCEP policies, procedures and processes. Personally demonstrate, display, and act in accordance with TTUHSCEP's values (Service, Respect, Accountability, Integrity, Advancement, and Teamwork).
  • Actively promote and encourage staff across the institution.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Preferred Qualifications
  • Extron AV Associate Certification, Extron Control Specialist Certification, Extron Control Professional Certification

Pay Statement
Compensation is commensurate upon the qualifications of the individual selected and budgetary guidelines of the hiring department, as well as, the institutional pay plan. For additional information, please reference the institutional pay plan on the Human Resources webpage.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with coursework in computer science, MIS, IT, or other related area plus seven (7) years related full-time paid experience OR
  • Combination of related education and/or experience to equal eleven (11) years.
