The Opportunity

Emerson Collective is on a mission to build a "best in class" IT organization, and we're seeking an IT Support Engineer who is passionate about customer service and technical excellence. As an integral part of our community, you'll play a key role in creating a positive and supportive environment that enables our teams to drive our mission forward.

As an IT Support Engineer, you will be at the forefront of providing comprehensive end-user support, ensuring the smooth operation of IT services within our diverse community. Your responsibilities will encompass end-user support, basic network troubleshooting, and conference room/AV support. Beyond the day-to-day, you'll have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the organization's technical initiatives and collaborate with leadership.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Delivering comprehensive end-user support with a focus on exceeding expectations, assisting with incoming tickets for both on-site and remote requests.
  • Ensuring smooth operation of facility infrastructure, including network, printers, conference rooms, and AV.
  • Contributing to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation and procedures.
  • Providing occasional support for events, some of which may occur after-hours and on weekends.
  • Participating in an on-call rotation for urgent after-hours matters.
  • Participate in staff training as required, travel when necessary, and perform other duties as appropriate and assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, and Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in enterprise IT support.
  • 2+ years of experience troubleshooting Apple hardware, macOS and iOS.
  • Strong customer service orientation with an inclusive approach.
  • Experience with client-side troubleshooting of network services.
  • Proficiency in administering/supporting workplace productivity apps (i.e., Office 365, Google Drive, Slack, Okta, JAMF).
  • Experience with enterprise-grade video conferencing equipment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a dynamic environment.
  • Passionate about the mission and values of Emerson Collective, contributing to change in education, immigration, environmental/climate change, and justice.
  • Exhibits outstanding judgment, problem-solving skills, and maintains poise while managing competing priorities.
Location
Emerson Collective is a Bay Area-based organization with offices in Palo Alto, East Palo Alto, San Francisco, Oakland, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and Washington, D.C. This position is located in Washington, DC and is onsite.
