This position has an individual occupational requirement at OPM Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alternative A) (opm.gov). For all IT positions, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below, in addition to the required specialized experience below, to be considered qualified. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

You qualify for this position at the GS-12 level (starting salary $83,477) if you possess the following: One year of specialized experience at the next lowest grade (GS-11). This experience may have been gained in the federal government, a state or local government, a non-profit organization, the private sector, or as a volunteer; however, your resume must clearly describe at least one year of specialized experience.
Specialized Experience:
- Integrating systems in a hybrid cloud environment; AND
- Prioritizing system integrity; AND
- Employing perimeter defense strategies; AND
- Incorporating security policy by using configuration methodologies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
