IT SOX Testing Specialist

Assists managing the Bank's Financial Statement Reporting Risk Framework (the Framework) and the Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance program which is required for an unqualified integrated audit opinion on the annual financial statements. Manages aspects of the coordination of the annual audit with the external auditors.
Works with the Risk Group along with the Framework leader and contributes to their activities. Provides consultative services to the Bank for financial accounting, SOX, and/or risk management activities.

Role Description

Manages large projects or processes that span outside of their immediate job area. Performs work under limited supervision with extensive autonomy and discretion; plans and arranges short- and long-term work. Influences timelines, expectations and proactively negotiates within the department
Communicates with parties within and outside of their own function, which may include external customers or vendors. Influences parties within and outside of their function at an operational and strategic level regarding policies, procedures, and practices. Regularly conducts briefings with managers and Senior People leader within their job function.
Requires deep knowledge of their job area. Has a specialty within their discipline. Has broad knowledge of project management. Advanced understanding of business line and a broad understanding of the overall Bank.
Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Constructs and may pursue alternative paths towards a solution. Exercises judgment in selecting method, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results consistent with broadly defined policies and practices. Problem/Task resolution timeframe: Inclusive of shorter timeframes, but typically six to twelve months or more to resolve.

Works with the Board where approval is needed. Leads and/or participates in Bank or System meetings, tasks forces, workgroups, etc. pertaining to issues relevant to the staff's work. Performs continuous assessment of the accounting and reporting processes; provides suggestions for improvement and/or implement.)

Qualifications
(
Excellent understanding of public accounting, financial reporting, or risk management.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA))
