The mission of the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences is the development of professional health care practitioners through innovation, individualized, and quality classroom, clinical, and distance education.

GENERAL SUMMARY

The IT Solutions Architect is responsible for the support, development and integration of solutions deployed within the USAHS technical stack. Working collaboratively within IT, this position must be able to develop, test, debug, migrate, maintain, document and support solutions implemented for our customers. In addition to creating new solutions, this position is responsible for providing application support to internal customers by troubleshooting operational issues and developing/implementing appropriate fixes to existing solutions, enabling continued usage to meet customer needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

       Collaborates with vendor / external consultants in ongoing application implementation projects to help gather business user requirements, design, configure, test and implement applications and modules.

       Provides cross-product/cross-technology expertise to capability teams, provides input on and evaluates solution design and is consulted during release planning (e.g., standards for solution design; determination of best practices, etc).

       Engages with the business and teams during ideation and design, guides technology selection, develops architectural artifacts in partnership with lead engineer and dev team(s) and ensure compliance with security, identity and access management, Enterprise Architecture, etc. 

       Helps to identify interfaces required for SIS with other IT systems; collaborates with vendor / external consultant to design, configure and tests interfaces.

       Leads design and solution workshops, review and decision making.

       Assesses the current IT environment and develops a future state IT architecture in partnership with Enterprise Architecture. 

       Develops and maintains policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure that a consistent technology framework is applied across the company, maintains awareness and visibility of organizational standards and best practices. 

       Promotes, and leads by example, a DevOps culture where the team is expected and empowered to own each aspect of the development, promotion, and operation of their code.

       Coordinates new software releases, production fixes and upgrades with technical teams and users.

       Recommends new features or changes to configuration / workflows based on user and vendor feedback.

       Modifies, configures, designs, and tests new interfaces for applications with other IT systems based on user requirement.

       Develops and executes data management strategy.

       Based on application changes required, provides Infrastructure requirements to Infrastructure team

       Develops and documents system configurations, procedures, and hardware as appropriate.

       Performs database inquiries and audits to verify system integrity.

       Conducts in-depth tests for application modifications or implementation of new systems.

 

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

       Provides technical support and guidance to application users; Works closely with internal and external service providers as required.

       Collaborates with other IT application resources (across Business Intelligence, Enterprise System, HRIS, ERP, Learning)

       Management and other applications to resolve cross functional dependencies.

       May perform other duties and responsibilities that management may deem necessary from time to time.

TECHNICAL, MANAGERIAL & PEOPLE SKILLS REQUIRED

       Salesforce Certifications in the following areas:

o   Certified Administrator

o   Platform App Builder

o   Developer I (Preferred)

       Experience with the following Salesforce technologies:

Sales Cloud

o   Service Cloud

o   Experience Cloud

o   Sales Engagement

o   Service Cloud Voice

o   Marketing Cloud/Pardot/Marketo

       Experience with developing solutions using integration tools such as Informatica, Microsoft SSIS, Zapier and Jitterbit is a plus.

       Experience with CD/CI tools, such as Github.

       Excellent understanding of object-oriented concepts and design patterns, prior work with OO languages (Apex, Java, Ruby, C#, C++, etc).

       Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as Snowflake, Google BigQuery, Azure SQL preferred.

       Experience with Python for application development preferred.

       Excellent critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.

       Excellent project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

       Ability to assist users in resolving problems and answer questions with minimal supervision.

 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, Master's degree is a plus.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • At least 5 years' experience in a leading role delivering Salesforce projects and other technical solutions.
  • At least 3 years' experience in Salesforce Administration and/or Python software development.
  • Experience in all phases of the development lifecycle.
  • Experience with higher education and health sciences preferred.
  • Experience with web development is a plus.
  • Familiarity with systems integrations such as CRM, Content Management, POS/Commerce, or Web Analytics preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment but may involve exposure to moderate noise levels. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for six to eight hours daily and includes physical demands associated with a traditional office setting, e.g., walking, standing, communicating, and other physical functions, as necessary.
