Metro seeks a skilled and experienced Information Technology Project Management Office (PMO) Manager to lead and oversee our organization's IT Project Management division.

If this sounds like you, you could be a great fit as the leader for our IT Project Management Office. The IT PMO Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring successful project execution, alignment with organizational and departmental goals, and continuous improvement of Project Management methodologies. This is a new position and will allow the successful applicant to design project intake structures, project prioritization methodologies and status reporting structures. This role requires a dynamic individual with exceptional leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
As the IT Project Management Office Manager,you will:
  • Lead the establishment and development of the IT Project Management Office, its framework, processes, and standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team of Project Management and business analyst professionals.
  • Create a project intake process and project evaluation methodologies, including scope, budget and resource assessment, project risk and timing.
  • Collaborate with management to align project initiatives with the organizations' strategic goals and objectives.
  • Create project monitoring and status reporting processes to give transparency and performance feedback.
  • Work with our Applications Management division and business units to develop application roadmaps and business process improvements.

  • Expertise in fostering effective collaboration between business units and multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in change management.
  • Experience with multiple methods of Project Management, including Waterfall, Agile and Lean.
  • High level of organization with the ability to juggle multiple priorities, projects, and tasks.
  • Ability to flex the approach to projects between methodologies, depending on the approach needed for the specific project.
  • Experience with creating and updating status reports to include scope, schedule, and budget progression of projects as well as prioritization updates for departments and staff.

Minimum qualifications:
  • Five years leading or supervising people AND
  • Bachelor's degree in the area of assignment or a related field AND
  • Two years Project Management experience in area of responsibility OR
  • Any combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the classification duties and responsibilities
Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. with a hybrid schedule including telework and on site work.

Like to have qualifications:
You do not need to have the following preferred qualifications/transferable skills to qualify. However, keep in mind we may consider some or all of the following when identifying the most qualified candidates. Your transferable skills are any skills you have gained through education, work experience, including the military, or life experience that are relevant for this position.
  • Experience with Enterprise software development and configuration
  • LEAN or Six Sigma processes
  • Project Management Institute certification
  • Experience working as or with business analysts
  • Experience successfully acquiring software or contracted services through an RFP
  • Experience with portfolio management
COMPENSATION AND REPRESENTATION

Based on the Oregon Pay Equity Act requirements, Metro's internal equity review process, and the candidates' qualifications, the appointment will typically be made between $123,480.00 to $139,730.00. The full-salary range for this position is $123,480.00 to $157,595.00 annually.
This position is not eligible for overtime and is non-represented. It is classified as a Manager II. Classification descriptions are typically written broadly and do not include the specific duties and responsibilities of the positions.
