It Operations & Support Technician

LC State invites applications for the position of IT Operations & Support Technician in Information Technology.
Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $18.85 per hour
Required Qualifications:

1. Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organization, and problem-solving skills;
2. Basic knowledge in computer software programs and technology;
3. Supporting users in the use of application software;
4. Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively;
5. Basic experience identifying and resolving computer system problems.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. A+ Certification;
2. Associate degree from a regionally accredited college or university in information technology or a related field;
3. 2+ years of customer service experience;
4. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems;
5. Experience identifying and resolving computer system problems.

Responsibilities:

1. Serves as the initial contact for customers experiencing technical issues;
2. Identifies, triages, and resolves a variety of technical problems including password resets;
3. Professionally responds to telephone calls, e-mails, and personal requests for technical support;
4. Tracks and monitors open problems to ensure a high standard of customer service is met;
5. Escalates unresolved issues to the appropriate ITS staff or vendor;
6. Communicates system outages and their updates to users;
7. May suggest, test, and implement workarounds or solutions to reported issues;
8. Creates and maintains documentation on common issues and processes;
9. Performs other duties assigned.
