Who we are:

Veteran Benefits Guide (VBG) was founded by former United States Marine, Joshua Smith. Josh was employed by the Veteran Benefits Administration (VA) as a Rating Veteran Service Representative. While working in this capacity, Josh was thoroughly trained in the VA’s Disability Compensation System. Recognizing the need to provide Veterans with a better option for processing their VA disability claims, Josh set out to create a means to expedite them through the VA claim process while also obtaining the benefits Veterans deserve. Years later, VBG successfully guided over 35,000 Veterans by submitting their VA disability claims, resulting in substantially increased compensation benefits for their disabilities that are related to active-duty service.

What we’re looking for:

Veteran Benefits Guide’s Information Technology Junior Product Manager will manage our proprietary software programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and be familiar with web development and CRMs. They will understand the SDLC and be familiar with the role of the Product Owner.
Essential Functions:

Support the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for proprietary web-based software applications and CRM including working with management to understand and translate business needs into technical requirements.
Develop use cases to prioritize features and user stories.
Work closely with partners and colleagues to create and maintain feature backlog.
Partner with Stakeholders and Development to design and maintain the database architecture and continually improve data quality and accuracy.
Create product documentation, including user guides, release notes, User Acceptance Testing checklists, and other technical documentation for end users.
Manage product releases and work with development partners to deliver successful sprints.
Develop meaningful metrics and manage internal and external technical support to those metrics.

Where we’re located:

This position is based in our Las Vegas, Nevada office on East Warm Springs Road. This is a hybrid position, with some days in the office and some days at home. The schedule will be determined by management.

During his tenure at the VA, he discovered many inefficiencies in the way Veterans' disability ratings were evaluated. He witnessed firsthand how the VA’s method of deciding Veterans’ disability ratings was heavily flawed and designed a system to address those deficiencies. Recognizing the need to provide Veterans a better option for processing their VA disability claims, Josh set out to create a means to expedite them through the VA claim process while also obtaining the benefits Veterans deserve. Years later, VBG has successfully guided over 10,000 Veterans with submitting their VA disability claims, resulting in substantially increased compensation benefits for their disabilities which are related to active duty service.
